Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
I read this passage this morning because it seems like life moves to fast and I wanted something to tell me to slow down. I have always read “be still” as calm down and slow down but this morning I took it as admonishment as well. I am a soldier, I lift weights and I attempt to teach teenagers. I always push forward. Looking for higher defendable ground as a soldier, I look for proper leverage as a weight lifter and to try to make every moment count as a teacher. Today I read “be still: as a stop fighting. I (we) are in control of nothing. God is in control of everything. He WILL be exalted. Why do we go through our lives fighting for control? We fight for control of our time, control of our money, control of our decisions, we fight for control of our lives.Maybe it is time for me and you to “be still” He is God. He knows His perfect plan for us.Let’s attempt this week to remember how awesome He is. He is the all knowing, all powerful and all present creator. He will be exalted!
